DTM offer External Transport Manager services to small and medium sized operators, enabling them to be legally compliant without having to employ an Internal Transport Manager. External Transport Managers can enable operators to reduce costs, ensure legal compliance in all areas, as well as implementing systems and policies to improve the transport section of your business. We can also deal with Health & Safety aspects relating to the Transport sector.

Making sure all relevant steps are taken to ensure legal compliance in accordance with your Operator Licence, including vehicle bookings and file keeping.

What can we offer? If you are a Standard Operator running a small to medium sized business, it may not be economically viable to employ a full time Transport Manager. In this situation most operators will choose to utilise the services of an External Transport Manager which enables you to still be legally compliant. DTM offer External Transport Manager services across Essex and the South-East at reasonable prices. What is included in the monthly hire? • Full initial audit, covering all areas (mentioned below) in order to develop an ongoing plan that’s suited to you • Implementation of systems (if none are in place) such as TachoMaster for monitoring drivers and vehicles* • Weekly visits to help with the general compliance in all areas • Provision of legal documentation or files needed to implement systems like driver check sheets or record keeping • A direct E-mail address and phone number for you to contact in or out of hours. *Software and other systems supplied will be at additional cost Below is a list of just some of the aspects that we will be able to oversee : • Working Time Directive Compliance • Drivers Hours Compliance • Tachograph Analysis And Driver Card Analysis • Vehicle Maintenance Booking And Management • Vehicle Defect Reporting • Driver Licence Checks • Daily Walk Round Inspections / Spot Checks • Driver cPC Training And Delivery • Disciplinary Hearings

Our prices will be reflected by the operator licence risk score. This is common practise as there is a greater risk involved with companies that are in amber or red. The hours spent on site will depend on the number of vehicles being operated and this will be agreed prior to acceptance of contract. Most contracts will be a minimum of 6 months but may be amended to suit. Please note : the prices below are general guides and may be subject to change.

*an external independent audit will be required for operators with a red OCRS score but may not be needed for an amber OCRS score. The cost of these audits will be charged separately.
